Your pet's first visit — what to expect

We're excited to meet you and your pet.

This first appointment is our chance to get to know your family — your goals, your concerns, and what matters most to you — so we can help your pet live their healthiest, happiest life.

To make the visit as helpful as possible, please bring any information you have, such as:

  • adoption or purchase records
  • past medical history or previous vet notes
  • a current medication list
  • what food your pet eats — including brand and feeding schedule
  • and any questions or observations you'd like to share

There is also a New Patient Form to complete — this helps us make sure we have important details correct from the very beginning.

During the visit, your veterinarian will perform a complete physical exam and then take time to talk with you about any findings, recommendations, or next steps.

Most importantly — this is a conversation.

We're here to listen, answer your questions, and partner with you in caring for your pet.

Appointment Policy

We schedule appointments so we can give each pet the focused care they deserve.

If your pet needs to be seen urgently, we'll do everything we can to help — sometimes this may mean a drop-off visit, so our doctors can work your pet into the schedule in between other appointments.

Drop-offs can also be helpful when we need extra time for diagnostics or treatment of sick pets.

We do our very best to stay on schedule because we know your time matters. If we are running behind, we truly appreciate your patience — and please know this:

When it's your turn, you and your pet will receive the same careful attention and unrushed care.

We are grateful you trust us with your pet, and we're here to make their visit — and yours — as smooth and supportive as possible.

Payment & Budget Options

We want you to feel confident and comfortable planning for your pet's care.

Payment is required at the time services are provided, and we're always happy to answer questions about cost estimates and payment methods before treatment — just give us a call.

We accept:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • American Express
  • Discover
  • Cash
  • Personal checks (with photo ID)
  • Pet insurance
  • CareCredit

Pet insurance

Pet insurance can be a great way to help manage the unexpected — especially illness and injury.

Most plans are paid monthly, and reimbursement is handled directly between you and the insurance provider after your visit.

If you're comparing companies and don't know where to start, we often recommend taking a look at Trupanion as one option.

CareCredit

CareCredit is a healthcare credit card designed to help spread out the cost of both routine and unexpected veterinary care — instead of paying everything at once.

It can be used for a wide variety of services, such as:

  • exams
  • spays/neuters
  • dental cleanings
  • parasite prevention
  • medications
  • vaccines
  • surgical procedures
  • and more

More information is available at CareCredit.com — and we're always available to help answer questions so you can find the payment approach that feels right for your family.
